There are moments in a winemaker’s life that feel like giving birth to a new child. That is how I feel about the arrival of Veravier La Piedad 2023, a wine created to pay tribute to an old vineyard at more than 500 meters of altitude, in Labastida, on sandy-loam soils with calcareous decomposition.
It is a bush-trained vineyard, tended with care and minimal intervention, because my intention has always been to reflect what the landscape transmits to me: serenity, restrained strength, and an energy you can feel when walking among those vines.
With only 1,400 bottles, I know it will be a wine for those who seek authenticity, for those who savor the elegance that only time and the land know how to bestow.
